Christianity is at a critical cross road. For a few decades now, a political movement of power has been working to secure the support of those that have been self identified as Christian in the United States. Today their efforts have been deeply engrained, causing the movement that should be focused on the betterment of humanity and life on this earth as a whole to support policies and activities that are the antithesis of everything Christ lived for and taught.
Christianity itself is not directly from God, neither is any religion. They are all created by men, bound by the limited perception of our individual viewpoint in this reality and the time bound perception of that reality. Every single one has pieces of the divine mixed with the interpretation of man. That makes every single one fallible. They are all bound within our human tendencies for tribalism, and as such contain great power to be wielded as a system of control and conformance.
The danger is in the belief that you and your chosen organization is exclusively right, and the subsequent dehumanization of all others and indeed the devaluation of life itself.
For Christianity, the crisis has escalated to epic proportions as many church organizations themselves have used that tribal nature combined with connections to money and power to devolve into a system of destruction rather than of peace and love.
These people have been misled and are so deeply invested in this false direction that many did not notice as the God of love, compassion and selflessness that transcends all labels of origin, race, and disposition was replaced by a giant golden calf of money, power and vanity spraypainted with the name Jesus Christ.
They are murdering Christ, nailing the truth behind the human writings of selfless infinite truth straight to the cross of their own design.
Jesus is in the “illegal” immigrant beaten, thrown in a van and disappeared for months waiting to die.
Jesus is in the queer man or woman wrestling with how they feel against the disapproval of the tribe.
Jesus is in the minorities trying to get the same treatment as those comfortably in power.
Jesus is in the very creation itself choking on the byproducts of our ever expanding search for convenience in energy and fancy devices.
It is God that is being disregarded and abused by those in using the name of the Lord in vain. It is God that is being called dangerous to this power structure. It is God that is being called blasphemous for standing up for the vulnerable.
The level of corruption in the chase for ever more money, power and vanity within the government is unprecedented, though not new. Power and money will always be corrupting, and those in leadership will always be the most vulnerable to that temptation. The blatant justification as ordained by God within the US government is new however, and the most disgusting thing I have ever seen in my short life.
I am not an authority. I do not claim to represent what is right, nor do I claim to be without fault or sin. I no longer refer to myself as Christian. I simply have seen that the focus on the interconnectedness of us all, all life, all creation and the release of our sin in the form of our false ego is at the core of not only Christianity but indeed every one of man’s attempts at understanding the infinite. Knowing that truth and applying that in the observation of our world and those in power makes it so incredibly obvious that there are no moral justifications for this. In fact that makes these self-proclaimed Christians in power or supporting this administration straight up idolaters and I’m deeply saddened.
They don’t even know they’re idolaters, they may believe that it is their faith, their “Jesus” that they support. It is not their fault. Rather it is those in power, in the churches, as a collective in the community that are at fault. We must challenge this. We must talk to each other about morality and how we treat each other, all of each other. We must destroy the false lines drawn around these groups of immigrants, other religions, other political beliefs and see each other as fellow travelers equal in source and outcome in this world. Frame it as your religion does if necessary. For Christians, all are God’s children. Be curious, learn from other viewpoints all while being compassionate to all. Do no harm.

Consolidation of wealth and power is also harm
Do better and hold those in power accountable so we can do better together.
