What is this place?
Anonymous Philosopher is a place for the thoughts and musings of a person who will remain, well… anonymous. It is primarily a creative output, a way to coalesce thoughts and structure them with a possibility that someone else could find them valuable.
Why Anonymous?
There are a couple reasons for this decision. First, the modern internet has become a place that can be difficult to express opinion and thoughts about controversial topics. Instead of an open and intelligent dialog around these topics, they often devolve into name calling arguments and from there they can go into stalking and harassment. Since this blog will likely contain things about religion and even possibly politics, remaining anonymous adds a layer between the author and the potential for cyber trouble. Second, remaining anonymous is an attempt at disconnecting this content from the ego of the author. Some of the topics for this site will be focused on the development of a selfless relationship with the divine infinity (choose your own name here). In the spirit of that journey, having this same blog feed the ego of the author with thoughts like “look how insightful I am” or “look how much I’m helping people” runs contrary to the entire purpose of the site.
The Intention of Anonymous Philosopher
This content will be take it or leave it style. Readers are free to take in whatever is said and form their own opinions, or dismiss them entirely. There will be no outlets made available for conversation here at this time, due to the current state of dialog demonstrated on social media every day. This site will not be monetized, or aggressively marketed. It is not intended to be a source of authority on anything, just an output of thoughts, feelings, and opinion on our human condition framed in the society and viewpoint of the author.
Who is the Anonymous Philosopher?
Just an average American middle class white guy. Not a psychologist, not a spiritual leader, not a published author, not an economist or political science junky, not a Democrat, not a Republican, not a Christian or other active religious participant. Just a guy with thoughts to share, take it or leave it. As such, there will obviously be framework behind the thoughts expressed, as there is for every single piece of writing in history. The framework is a product of the human mind and the life situation of the author, and can never be avoided. I intend to attempt to acknowledge the shortcomings of my own experience when possible, however a little forgiveness from the reader may be required as this will inevitably fail on occasion.
What should I do with this?
Whatever your heart tells you to do. If you find an article helpful or insightful, share it. If you find it disagreeable, don’t share it and feel free to dismiss it. You may end up sharing it to argue if you disagree, I can’t stop you from doing so and as a fellow human with your own thoughts and viewpoint, this is your choice. It’s really that simple.
